I sincerely wish Volvo’s of this era didn’t have such  sketchy reliability.

I sincerely wish Volvos of this era weren’t FWD. if you want reliable just look a couple decades back. Both my 240s have been the most reliable cars I have owned as well....

This one is AWD. Though frankly on a 10+ year old Volvo, I feel like AWD, while perhaps nice, is also mostly just one more expensive thing to break or need maintenance. One of the reasons I ended up with a regular FWD S60 instead of an AWD one or an R.

I agree about 10 year old Haldex being concerning, and while I’ve never driven something with Haldex I don’t think it quite counts as the god intended wheels being driven (I’m mostly kidding, any wheel drive can be fun)

I don’t even mind FWD so much. I’d rock a V70R, if I could reasonably assume I’m not going to spend a fortune keeping it running.

There’s a brief span in the Volvo line up, between the awkward round lamps but before the ear ly -90's, where they got really boxy, and I love those. I also like the early- to mid-90's look, but those mid-late 80's Volvos...

People claim that it costs about $2000 a year for upkeep on a P2 R.
